Search Q&A
Is it still possible to drive to the Netherlands? I'm a Belgian resident.
Timo, you ask some strange questions here.
Very simply please do not even think about it for your sake and for everyone you meet. We are in crisis mode. You must not leave your house , only for essentials of food, pharmacy and exercise.
Do you understand?
Essential travel only, eg cross border worker in essential profession.
Many of the B/NL border crossing points have been closed, the remainder have controls in place although not necessarily 24h/24. If your journey doesn't fall into the essential categories, and transfrontaliers doing essential jobs have special documentation from their employers, you will not only be turned back but you may well be given an on-the-spot fine, € 400 is the most likely amount but it can be up to € 4.000, especially if you have driven more than a short distance from your home.
Once this emergency is finally over you should visit your doctor as you clearly have psychological problems which need to be sorted out.
Timo, the government has published very easy to understand and specific information regarding travel. You can access it here:

(1) Citizens are required to stay at home to avoid contact outside of their family as much as possible:
- Except to go to work
- Except for essential travel (to the doctor, food shops, post office, bank, pharmacy, to refuel or to help people in need)
