Most doctors in Belgium speak English.
I think J is being very optimistic in suggesting most doctors in Belgium speak English. It is true that they will have some knowledge of medical English from their training but that is very different from saying that they can speak English.
My experience of workers in the medical profession in Wallonie, be they generalists, hospital doctors, dentists or nurses is that they don't speak more than a few words of English. Certainly we have always had to speak French to them. Don't forget that their favoured second language will of necessity be Dutch (and a Dutch friend complains that that isn't as widely spoken as he would wish).
The situation is doubtless very different in Flanders and Brussels (and possibly Brabant Wallon).
I would endorse what Becasse says.
I had an acquaintance from the Mons area who came to Gasthuisberg in Leuven specifically because they could not find English speaking medical professionals where they live - and their French is perfectly adequate though not technical/medical French.
Indeed - my experience of healthcare in deepest Wallonia is limited. Our local gaff is Gasthuisberg, where even the porter spoke English.
