leasing a car as private status

Question

Hello,

I am interested in leasing a car (first car in Belgium). Can anyone guide me for this?

J

Pick the car you want and talk to the salesman. They have all sorts of ownership & financing options.

There's no financial advantage in leasing over buying as a private individual.

J, perhaps you can elaborate on why you think there is no financial advantage leasing?

I guess as a private I have to pay the tax. Company car users benefit more financially. For me the reason for leasing is not to worry for car registration, annual taxes, maintenance and other operational fees.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other. You pay pretty much the same either way. Leasing was basically "you pay X a month, and if you do 15k a year for 3 years, then you get N part exchange value off the next one". Buying would have worked out about the same.

Any suggestions for dealers to contact in Brussels?

I am also in need to evaluate my option of buying a second hand car. I need to know taxes, insurance, maintenance costs. On average for a city car (vw polo).

Any ideas?
