Leaving Belgium - what about my Belgian pension?

Question

I've been living and working in Belgium for about 18 years and during that time have paid my tax and social security in Belgium like a local. I'm now heading back to the UK and wondering where do I start to make enquiries about making sure I don't lose all the contributions I made over the years.
Anyone know where I start to investigate this?

When you retire, you will get about 1/2 the full Belgian state pension that you would be entitled to if you had worked here for the full qualifying period (35 or 40 years I think). You apply through the UK pensions people.

My mutuelle has a regular briefing session in the local branch office for people with quesions about pensions. I would start by asking yours and I certainly wouldn't wait until you have left Belgium.
My wife had 21 qualifying years and got 21/41sts of a full pension from which I guess that the full qualifying period must be 41 years.

I thought the mutuelle was health insurance - not pension?

Ask your union in Belgium to help you.
