Starting in 2015, supermarket chain Lidl will launch a new clothing line in Belgium. Last week it was announced that the German global discount chain would begin selling clothing in the UK, followed by the Netherlands in September and in Belgium from early next year.
Lidl has always sold some kind of clothing, but it was mostly basics like T-shirts, underwear and children’s clothes. Now the retailer is also offering a complete fashion line. "The new line is all about denim: jeans and jean jackets, cute ankle boots and biker jackets,” said a spokeswoman.
The garments are available for one week at a time only, or while supplies last. The clothing is produced in China and Bangladesh, reports De Tijd.
