Limburgers Worldwide: Community expands with website and newsletter in collaboration with The Bulletin
Professional community Limburgers Worldwide has expanded with a new website and bi-weekly newsletter, providing daily English-language news about life in the Limburg province.
Targetting Limburg expats, foreign expats and students, the community was launched in autumn 2022 by the province’s economic director POM Limburg and regional newspaper Het Belang van Limburg in cooperation with The Bulletin.
The online group caters to Limburg expatriates who want to maintain a connection with their home region, as well as expats and their families, foreign students and other internationals living in the province.
It already boasts a LinkedIn platform, supplying members with daily English-language news about business and economic affairs in Limburg, as well as practical news and information about living in Belgium.
More accessible
"LinkedIn is an ideal platform for a professional community, but we noticed that it occasionally had its limitations, particularly in terms of discoverability,” said deputy for economy and chairman of POM Limburg Tom Vandeput.
“In order to reach retired Limburgers and foreign UHasselt students, we developed our own website and newsletter. This way, we give extra strength to the Limburgers Worldwide brand," he added.

Interested individuals can sign up via limburgersworldwide.com as well as joining the LinkedIn group.
The news is provided by the three partners: Het Belang van Limburg, POM Limburg and The Bulletin.
Indra Dewitte, editor-in-chief of Het Belang van Limburg, said: "We are happy to support this innovative approach. Since its establishment, Het Belang Van Limburg has always had a strong focus on international affairs. Being a Limburger and a global citizen is truly in the DNA of the newspaper."
For The Bulletin’s publisher Sarah Crew, the collaboration is an opportunity to extend its daily news service to Limburg. “We are delighted to be part of this partnership and contribute to informing internationals about what is happening in their province, region and country.”
Regional promotion
Limburgers Worldwide is part of POM Limburg's international strategy, explained Vandeput. "Regional promotion is an important part of our work. We anticipate new developments with significant economic impact, such as the expansion of Health Campus Limburg, where we attract foreign investors, or the Einstein Telescope, which will soon draw thousands of scientists to our region. The more internationally visible Limburg is, the better our positioning to attract knowledge workers and innovative companies."
