luggage at Zaventhem
Hello!
Unfortunately I came back to Brussels during the strike and my bag is missing since a week,
Tuesday I have to travel again. I need my bag and the things in it.
Does anyone know of a way to het it back ASAP? I know they say "don't come to the airport".
If not, is the company I flew with going to reimburse me for buying clothes and a bag?
If anyone has any info, that would be great
TIA
Did you ask for a luggage missing/ delayed report. If so, Airlines would normally refund you for any reasonable purchase -reasonably price/
We have had to deal with missing bags twice at the Brussels airport and the bottom line is that you have to call every day to get somebody to track it down. It also actually depends on what airline you deal with. Do you have a phone number to call the airline and enquire about the bag? Have you been calling? We arrived at the Brussels airport Friday morning and there were hundreds of bags against the wall.
Anyway, getting your bag also depends on the airline. Our first bag went to the wrong airport when we flew Brussels airlines. Took about a week to get the bag because every time we called, they would tell us, "yes, we are actively looking for the bag." Funny thing was, each time we called, they were like, "we will call you in 48 hours with an update." So finally we had to start taking down names to say, "We spoke to Pierre yesterday and he told us this." Otherwise, believe me, I think we would still be waiting for that bag.
Then another time Swiss Air misplaced the bag, but they actually called us to let us know what was going on and we had the bag within 48 hours. Two different experiences, two different airlines, so if you haven't heard about your bag, I think you need to start calling the airline at the airport and make sure you take the name of the person you speak with so that when you call the next day, they don't tell you, "but this the first time we hear of this..."
Hi, I just collected my bags at Zaventem airport following an email I received from Swiss port "In order to speed up the recovery of your baggage, you have the possibility to present yourself with your travel documents at the arrival level in the airport. " So go to the security desk at the arrivals with your boarding card and ID and then you go to the Swissport desk. Someone will accompany you to the hangar to search for your bag. Pinch your nose when you go to the hanger as it's smelling of rotten fish :-( . Good luck.
