Mailing Chocolates to the USA

Question

Has anyone sent a (small) package to the U.S. from Brussels? I've tried googling it and only DHL and UPS come up and no local postal service advice... anyone have experience with them?

I just want to send a small box of a dozen chocolates :)

Thanks!!

Most chocolatiers will send them for you. I have mailed some from The Godiva and Neuhaus website. When sending it myself to family back home in the States, I have aways had to use ice packs since they can melt pretty easily in transit. I always use UPS.

We did a trial run using the normal Belgian post office and somebody opened the box and ate some of the chocolates. On another local forum there was an employee from the Belgian post office pretty much saying that indeed, there are shady characters working there and chocolates are not the only items they get their hands on. :)

Don't waste your time. As Lucky13 above says, the companies will do it for you. Try here;

Thanks for the warnings! That's disgusting they open packages.

I already bought the chocolates but guess I'll have to eat them myself and order from Neuhaus. Godiva unfortunately is too available in Houston to be "Belgian" gift. :)
