maternity pay

Question

Please help.. according to rights in Belgium, if an employee enters a short-term contract, finishes her contract and has a baby, how long does she have a right to return to work, if any? How much time can she have off for maternity, unpaid?

J

If you have finished a short term contract, then you are not an employee anymore. You can't have maternity leave from a job you don't have, and similarly, you have nothing to return to.

You may have a right to unemployment benefits though.

Thanks - that's exactly what I thought.
Do you know if there are any links to this somewhere on the web?
