Moving to a new area

Question

Hi,

Myself and my husband have been looking for a new apartment to rent and have found a lovely place in Schaerbeek, however it is in an area we know nothing about, so would appreciate it if anyone could give me a little in site into the surrounding area.

the road is Avenue Huart Hamoir and it is 2 minutes walk away from Schaerbeek train station (so great for public transport). We currently live in a quiet street close to Merode and love the area as it is close to a few nice cafe bars and restaurants.

However this place is close to a lot of parks and seems quite child friendly, and as we are thinking about starting a family this is important to us.

Anyway if anyone can give us any advise about the area it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mérode = 2 good schools which go through to secondary on your doorstep. Huart Hamoir = yes area on the up but at the moment nearest well regarded maternelle is a tram ride away.

stroll around any area to are considering to live;
at night when it's dark tuesday/thursday & saturday,
on friday, saturday & sunday mornings
and in the morning at the time you would be leaving for work.

Lastly - if you feel you need to ask the question - go with your gut.

P.S. Merode is a very easy place to live with impeccable public transport from there & Montgomery.

Wherever you go, good luck - or if you would like an apartment with a big garden for the babies, get in touch.
