my computer - any suggestions to replace hardware / software
My laptop is 5 years old & I need to replace it with something similar. Should I get a notebook or netbook or tablet? I prefer to be able to close it. Will need it to be lightweight & operate for about 3 hours when on the move. Is an external DVD drive an idea if not built-in? Hardware budget 400 euro max.
How can I get affordable software? Windows, MS Office, Paintshop Pro? Or generic versions of these?

For hardware, you should mention what you will use it for to get helpful answers. For software, anything you buy should come with Windows. You can get a free software suite resembling and compatible with MS office from openoffice.org. For other free programs check download.com In the advanced search on the left select free software. Make sure you read the reviews before installing. You can also check zdnet.com What you get on these sites is not pirated or cracked.
