New immersive experience to illuminate the Sablon

Genesis – a spectacular sound and light experience – has already enjoyed success in several European cities including Antwerp and Liège in Belgium.

Now the show created by Zurich-based artist collective PROJEKTIL and live entertainment platform Fever is coming to the Sablon’s Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church, which is a supreme example of Brabantine Gothic architecture.

Combining music and visual effects, this 30-minute spectacle transports viewers back to the beginnings of time, according to the Bible, through “a poetic and captivating journey” say the show’s organisers.

In short, the audience is promised an immersive journey through the seven days of Creation as recounted in the Book of Genesis. From the appearance of light to the birth of humankind, via the formation of the heavens, the earth, the seas, the stars, plants and animals, each scene brings a key stage in the world’s origins to life.

Accompanied by a soundtrack blending classical works and contemporary compositions, from PROJEKTIL’s team of visual artists, musicians, programmers and designers, this experience offers a poetic and contemplative look at the Creation.

The aim of the project is also to showcase historic monuments through immersive projections tailored to their architecture. Every detail of the venue – from floor to ceiling – is meticulously measured, calculated and planned in advance to ensure that the projections conform to the building’s shapes and volumes.

Starting 12 September, the shows will take place every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 20.00.

Prices begin at €14.90 for adults and €9.90 for children over five.
