New pedestrian cycle bridge spanning the Ring’s Tervuren intersection opens to public
Following a seven-month delay due to a technical hitch, cyclists and pedestrians can finally cross the Ring at the busy Tervuren via a new 70-metre wooden bridge from 7 November.
The striking enclosed structure was due to open to the public in the spring, but a weight problem hampered its completion.
Although some work around its embankments has yet to be finished, the Flemish Mobility Agency decided to open access to users ahead of an official inauguration in a couple of weeks, reports Bx1.
The Vier Armen crossroads is one of the main entry points to the east of the capital. It is set in a stretch of the Sonian Forest that also attracts leisure cyclists and walkers.
