Next Brussels Muzieque classical music concert at Full Circle on 14 June

The Unorthodox Quartet
13:40 31/05/2022

The Unorthodox Quartet, consisting of four Brussels-based musicians with Italian roots, will play a one-off concert at Full Circle on 14 June.

Presenting a colourful programme, the quartet will perform an unorthodox combination of wind and cello instruments.

The musicians are: Matteo Del Monte and Antonio Capolupo, respectively solo flautist and solo clarinettist of the Opera La Monnaie, Gordon Fantini, solo bassoonist of the Belgian National Orchestra, and Eduardo Tonietto, cellist and artistic director of Brussels Muzieque. Together, they mix the richness and variety of the timbres of their instruments to recreate familiar and beloved pieces by Mozart and Beethoven, transcribed for this unusual instrumentation.

A special feature of the programme is a new transcription for the ensemble of Beethoven's first string quartet in F major and the well-known Divertimento in D major of Mozart, also originally written for string quartet. This concert is a unique opportunity to listen to this piece performed in a totally different instrumentation.
