Everyday life isn't always easy, and as a parent, it's even more challenging. The Circle of Security can provide you with some tools that you, as a parent, need.

The Circle of Security parenting training is an educational model for making attachment theory comprehensible and useful for all parents. Based on modern research, the course provides tools and understanding to parents so they can help their children develop a more secure attachment. Secure attachment, in turn, fosters good self-esteem and provides a solid foundation for a successful life for our children.

This series of workshops includes 5 sessions, each Saturday from 21st September until 19th October. You can sign up to single sessions or attend them all. As couple or by yourself.

ABOUT THE CIRCLE OF SECURITY

The Circle of Security is a visual map of attachment. The father of attachment theory, John Bowlby, stated: "Intimate attachments to other human beings are the hub around which a person's life revolves, not only as an infant or a toddler or a schoolchild, but throughout adolescence and years of maturity as well, and on into old age. From these intimate attachments a person draws strength and enjoyment of life and, through what he contributes, gives strength and enjoyment to others. These are matters about which current science and traditional wisdom are at one".

ABOUT THE TRAINERS:

Per & Helene Götberg, from Sweden, are Circle of Security trainers/leaders. Per worked as a family therapist for the social services in Stockholm Sweden when he first came to know about the Circle of Security, and he fell immediately in love with it. The model came from USA and was developed by Bert Powell, Kent Hoffman and Glen Cooper, three family therapists working under similar conditions as Per did. He then became project manager for taking the program to Sweden where, along the years, has also been able to map the programme's effects in the families who received the training. The study's results were overwhelmingly positive and truly heart warming. Now in Brussels, Per & Helene are ready to hand the Circle of Security's precious gift over to parents here.
