BT Phone/ missed calls

Question

I purchased my new phone (a BT phone) in a Belgacom shop.Horrors, while I am out of the house, the phone does not indicate whether anyone has called -unless they leave a msg. Nor am I able to find a record of any missed call whicht, while in the house, I just miss getting to the phone by a second. I need to go and buy a new phone again. Can anyone tell me please, what is that particular facility called in the blurb.the Id/no ID of the caller, is not the issue. I just need to be advised of the physical fact that I have received a call on my phone.
Also would anyone know what is the equivalent of the UK 1471 callback facility, in Belgium - this might be a solution - from google. Thanks and Apologies for resending .

Firstly, the phone has to have a display in order to indicate whether anyone has called - BTW I don't know whether non-display phones still exist.
Secondly, you have to sign up for the caller display service - it costs a couple of euros a month.
1919 is the equivalent of the UK 1471.
Messages will be in the language of the commune in which you live but you can change this to English if you wish though it is so long ago that I did it that I cannot recall how - staff in the Belgacom shop should tell you.
