Hurricane Sandy grounds most US-bound flights

11:35 29/10/2012

There will be almost no direct flights from Brussels Airport to the United States today, due to the threat of Hurricane Sandy. All Brussels Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines flights to New York are cancelled for today, as are the US Airways flight to Philadelphia and the United Airlines flight to Washington, though the latter's Chicago-bound flight is still due to take place. All Brussels-bound flights from the US are expected to go ahead. Brussels Airport has advised passengers to check the websites of the relevant airports, adding that many companies offer indirect flights to the US.
