Google introduces Indoor Maps to Belgium
Google has launched Indoor Google Maps in Belgium, internet journal Telecom Paper reports. The maps are aimed at helping people find their way around, for example, shops, museums, airports and railway stations. The service will initially provide maps for more than 60 places including Bozar, the National Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Universities of Louvain-la-Neuve, Ghent and Brussels, as well as several churches. Android users with the latest version of Google Maps will automatically get detailed floor plans when they view the map and zoom in on a building where indoor maps are available. The launch is part of Google’s focus on European users and the maps are now available in many places in the UK, France, Switzerland, Denmark and Sweden.
