Fire destroys Pharma Belgium in Evere

A fire has completely destroyed a warehouse belonging to Pharma Belgium, a pharmaceutical company situated on an industrial estate on Rue Carli in Evere, north-east Brussels. The fire broke out at around 02.00 today and was contained by 05.00, confirmed Pierre Meys, spokesman for the Brussels fire department. No less than 8,000m² were destroyed in the fire; forty firefighting staff were deployed, as well as three water pumpers, three water ladders and four tanker trucks.  No one was injured in the fire. Pharma Belgium represents a turnover of €11m per month and had three weeks’ worth of medical supplies stocked up in the warehouse. The cause of the fire is unknown at the time of writing.
