Question

Anyone help please that what is rent indexing in Belgium?
Is there any specific percentage, which we need to add each year while paying rent? Is there any official authority who decides about indexing or the apartment owner?

the landlord can ask a max of three months in arrears in case he is late, anyway should be mentioned in your contract.

Your landlord is allowed to increase the rent on the anniversary of the start of the contract according to the official cost of living index proving it has risen by at least 2% since the start of the contract or the last rise. If it hasn't risen by 2% he has to wait until the next year. As R says, he can do so up to 3 months late if he forgets.
