Any good?

Question

Good morning, has anyone tried the hairdresser Ashida Junko?

Thanks

fellow expat

After reading some good reviews online, I got a haircut there last year and it was not nice, to say the least. The haircut was given by a young man.The staff was friendly, but the cut was so bad that I had to get another one within a week to rectify it. Would not recommend.

I went to one called "Jean Charles" in the Galleries Louise last week (if you walk in via Place Steph he's at the end of that passage on your right) on a friend's recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. it's him and another hairdresser, a woman in her 40s with a very cool grey pixie haircut, both are very friendly, engaging and he cut exactly what I wanted. At 75€ for a wash, cut and blow-dry not cheap though.

If you have fine straight Asian hair, Kaoru is the place to go. Been going to her (Kaoru) for more than 5 years and always happy with her work, especially layered cuts (not the choppy, blunt cuts you get from the typical salon chains) . She also speaks perfect English.
