Job seeking
Dear All,
I decided to write this post as I'm getting a bit discouraged :-(. I'm a trailer wife whose employment contract expired in December. I've been looking for a job since January with no tangible results. Yes, I visit major websites, I keep in touch with ex-colleagues, I spread the word among my friends from the French course; I've participated in a job fair, I apply to job ads whenever the job description is in compliance with my profile and - nothing really happens. I've never been interviewed even.
My major target is the education sector, but I feel potential employers reject my applications as I am a non-native speaker teacher of English. Probably lots of native speakers are available in the stead. Nonetheless, I have long years of experience (as an academic teacher) and skills that allow me to claim I'm a good teacher.
As a holder of a diplomatic ID I can't take up cleaning. Besides I'm not financially desperate, but - you know :-). It's a matter of self-esteem.
Hope I didn't make you depressed.

"I am a non-native speaker teacher of English"
I would tend to agree - teaching English is likely to be a non-starter. Even for native speakers, they tend to prefer certain accents.
That shouldn't stop you from reassessing yourself and working out what you can do.
Job hunting can be a long, slow process. 3 months is certainly not long enough to conclude that you are unemployable or should get discouraged.
