Question

hi, I would like some advice that I could pass on to someone in England. She works as a Health care assistant in the NHS and was asking if there is any chance of her finding any work here in Belgium, she has become dissalusioned with life in England and is looking for a change. Her french is non existant but is willing to learn, any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Learn Dutch rather than French. Flanders and The Netherlands probably offer better prospects.

If you mean your friend is a nurse or auxiliary nurse then there are plenty of jobs here. She would need to learn French (or Dutch) to get a job though. If she's really serious maybe a crash course in French would be an idea before she makes the move and applies for work.

I would agree that Dutch gives more options than French.
Firstly there are far more Dutch speakers here than French and secondly her English would be more use in a Dutch speaking hospital where non-Dutch speaking patients are commonplace. In Gasthuisberg, for example where I have been more times that I care to think, I would guess that at least 90% of the staff speak good English.
