New Belgian Nationality - Anyone lucky?

Dears,
I applied for belgian nationality following the new procedure in my Brussels commune based on economic participation -
- uninterrupted 5 year work
I have lived here 8 years and work all of it. Have followed NL lessons - 2 levels, have a Social intergration certificate.
This has cost me 150 registratie recht +50 commune +200 euros for translation of all document from my home country.
Last year i applied, I got a negative response that there was a 2 week hole in my residence permit! But this time i have suporting document from my commune that i applied almost on time (still 1 day hole).
I wanted to have feed back, has anyone applied? Any positive responses or are these people unjustly getting the increasing their economic revenue by way of charging registratierecht? and by saying that people apply any number of times.
