getting my proximus mobile to work in USA
Dear xpats, in the US this week but my phone won't work. Cannot contact belgacom on the 6030 number or even the 0800 number on their website. They don't mention an email address either. Does anyone have a customer service email or any advice on how to get onto a network here? Thanks in advance!

I called Proximus but without your number I can't do anything for you but they told me you can call this number for help:

Your Belgian GSM phone should work in the USA.
Another issue is the roaming costs, they can get very high quickly...
Buy a ATT (pay and go) card,cheap rate to call over there n to call Europe.that is what I do when I go visit for a couple months.
Just if anyone else has this problem, it happened to me too and finally went to a Belgacom shop after Belgacom on the phone had said that there was nothing they could do. At the store, they told me that Proximus cards with my type of subscription are blocked aborad by default and that I have to have it opened. They did it and I have not had a problem in the US or elsewhere ever since
