How to check drivers license validity?

Hello!

I moved from Belgium 10 years ago and have been living in europe using the license I got in Belgium many years ago. I am thinking of changing it to the license of the country I live in now, but I would like to somehow make sure the license is valid before I turn it in for the exchange process where I live now. Is there some way to verify a license via the net or somewhere I can call?
