Support for PC problem

Question

I have just bought a new PC with Amazon, but I can't start it properly. Is there a place in Brussels where I could turn for help?

If it is a new PC should really be either going back to Amazon or calling them for support.
However http://www.mistergenius.be/fr are very good and helpful. There are various shops so depends on where you stay.

Have you read the documentation that came with it explaining what to do when you first start it up? If you do, you will find information on who to contact if you have a problem. (It's called RTFM - something techies do)

Perhaps if you explain exactly what happens when you try to start it someone can help you along. Or Google how to set up the operating system, likely Windows 8 or 8.1

Could I ask you what model and brand is it?

It's an ASUS F75A-Ty-133D. I did contact the support, but they haven't really been helpful. I sent them pictures of the screen, and the last answer was that the FreeDos wasn't supposed to come up, and they gave me instructions on how to restore the BIOS settings. I followed them, but then the FreeDos came up again...

There seems to have been several people with the same problem when buying from Amazon. There were 2 versions of that laptop sold via Amazon in Germany ( I assume that is where you got it from )
A version that was installed from factory with Windows 8 would not also have freedos
From what you have said, you may already have tried:
1. Turn the notebook off
2. turn the notebook on and press the F2 key repeatedly
3. Once in the BIOS press F9, and choose yes
4. Press F10 choose save and exit
5. The notebook will restart
If freedos still comes up again, sorry but you might have to install a new version of Windows 8
