We were going to renovate last year sometime in nov/dec and we were told to wait til january to buy supplies and indeed, because of the sales in january, we did find some cheaper deals. Not all, but many things. Thus, next sales will be in july so wait you can until then.
Or you can also try going to Germany as many times things are cheaper there.
Before making the trip, we compared prices at obi.de for example, since unlike in Belgium, some hardware stores in Germany have their catalog online and is searchable with current prices, unlike here in Belgium.
For example, I see obi has wallpapers with prices online so you can compare how it differs to the prices in Belgium and if it's worth the trip.

Some German colleagues had given me other stores, but obi is the only one that I can remember now, so you can ask around maybe for other brico stores in Germany.
Finally, in anderlecht you have the brico store, tax free company (yes, strange name for a brico store), and they always have stuff cheaper than in other Brico stores in Brussels. They are also open on sundays and I think on monday they open at 2pm, so have to check their schedule.
Here is an article about this store:
If you buy a bricco card you can get 10% off if you will be spending a lot it will pay to itself. Alternatively go on a day trip to UK and go to b&q
