Small coins
In some countries you can take 1,2,5 cent coins to a machine in a bank which counts them for you and you can take the bill or bigger coins. Is there a way to do this? When you take it to a bank do you take them to the counter where they count it for you? Is this normal practice in banks or do you get bad looks from the person? Or should I give them to the beggars to get rid of them? :-) Thanks for ideas.
I took what I thought was a sizeable bag of coppers to the bank (ING), wanting to pay it into my account, only to be told that although they would take them, the cost to process them would not make it cost effective.
They gave me an enormous plastic bag and said that when I'd filled that it would be worth my while. I'm still working on it. You don't need to sort them though.
I just get the coin holders from the bank and then let my kids sort them out. After all the sorting the cash is then taken at the bank and put into my kids accounts.
What I do is go to Cora Shopping (Woluwe) and bung the whole lot (about a handfull) in the self-checkout machine
