Cat has fleas - Diatomaceous earth
I suggest you also use a hoover and vacuum all your floors and carpets - also sprinkle with baby powder (leave for 15 minutes and then hoover).
Any cloths, blankets, rugs, bedding, clothing etc. put on a high temperature in the tumble dryer for 40 minutes.
Also place orange peel around the house.
Use a plastic lid; place some baby powder on it and leave it in dark or hidden places.
Comb the cat with a comb soaked in vinegar.
You can get diatomaceous earth a few places online:
http://www.amazon.com/
http://www.ebay.com/
http://www.diatomaceousearth.com/
You can also find some diatomaceous earth at Tractor Supply (if there is one in your area) or a local feed store. When you get DE, make sure it says "food grade" on the label or something like "meets food chemical codex standards". Don't use pool grade in your house or on your cat.
Leave DE on the carpet for a while. Put it anywhere the cat goes. Vacuum lots and put more DE down after. (Break up any big clumps before you vacuum.)
When you dust the cat, push the fur back to expose the skin. DE needs to come in direct contact with the flea to work. Apply DE maybe twice a week, but keep on eye on your cat's skin! If the skin starts to dry badly then discontinue use immediately.
You need to keep at this for at least a month because DE doesn't work on the eggs. Do this to break the cycle. Good luck with everything!
You can buy it in the Bio shop in the Bascule Gallery beside Inno Bascule.
