Asbestos?
A friend of mine has an old unused drainage pipe sitting in a corner of his basement which looks like is made from some unkown material. Since we fear there could be asbestos we don't really want to touch it or investigating (it was there when he bought the house)
Would you know any service from the commune (woluwe) or company that could take care of it? I saw some numbers on the yellow pages but recommendations would work too
An asbestos pipe is going to be completely harmless unless you start damaging, grinding or drilling it in some way to produce dust, which you then inhale over a period of time.
Just take it to the dump and put it with "building materials".

Building waste and rubble should be brought to the container park.
Be careful when disposing of waste containing asbestos. Asbestos cement should also be disposed of separately in the container park. The container for building waste and rubble must not be contaminated with asbestos cement. Warning: Waste containing asbestos is not accepted in the Brussels Capital Region container parks. You can call on the services of companies that specialise in handling asbestos.
