Connecting a computer to an LCD TV (SAMSUNG)
Hey there,
Don't know if you can help me out. I have an LCD TV SAMSUNG and i want to connect my computer (desktop, windows 7) to my TV. I have the VGA (blue), both behind my computer and TV, but when i connect the blue cable at both devices and i choose the PC option on my TV, it indicates no signal and after 3 second or so, my TV goes out. All the other options works fine. Now i don't have an HDMI connection from my computer, but i have it on my TV.
Can someone help me out with some advice (s) and what to do?
Thanks
I think the only viable option is to get a HDMI to USB adapter and then connect the PC to the tv with a HDMI cable. You can probably find one at Mediamart, else online
If you are using the VGA cable don't forget that you need to inform your pc/laptop to extend the screen as well. This is normally done on a laptop by the function key and one of the F1-10 keys looking at my current laptop it is the F7 key but it could be anything.
Have you tried with the cable to a normal PC monitor? If it does not work on that then it will not work on a TV. Your VGA adapter could be not working or the VGA cable. Best to try with a monitor that you know works first and then try the TV.
VGA to HDMI might not be readily available. They have it here http://www.ldlc.be/connectiques/connectique-pc/hdmi/c4501/
Or call Cotubex and ask them at 02.643.36.66.
But better exhaust possibilities of using yor cable before you waste 30 euros, you have no guarantee it will work. In particular, mind what Richard mentioned about telling your computer that you want it to send the signal to an external monitor or TV. Read the manual for your computer (or graphics card if it was a desktopn assembled by a shop), online if you don't have the book.
Go to control panel and then to display. You will likely find one of the setting to do with outpu to TV. Actual words can vary depending on the operating system.
USE HDMI for video and sound !!!
