Temporary Internet Access in the UK

Question

My kids are baulking at staying at someone's house in the UK as there is no internet there.

What's the best way at solving this? Pay as you go style contract over there? Any other options?

Thanks.

J

Reminds me of my mother's house! The hardship. It gets better after a couple of days cold turkey.

Tell them pop up to the local high steet most coffee shops offer free wifi so they can check their messages etc that way. Try the loa l library too they may have free wifi

Personally bob I used mac Donald's when I'm traveling I get a coffee sit and use the wifi. It's not a perfect solution but it's better than no wifi at all

I'd rather go without than have to put up with the stench inside a MacDonald's...

My brother-in-law was invited to stay with us but baulked at coming because he wouldn't be able to watch ITV here. Honestly!
What should we have done?
What would you have done?
He was told that the choice was his; they came and he didn't watch ITV.
Tell your kids that you have turned down an offer of 3 weeks, all expenses paid summer holiday in the Bahamas for the whole family as there will not be internet access and see what the response is.

At the risk of actually answering the question, depending on where you are in the UK, you can get good mobile internet, which I need to keep in touch with work.

I use a Three Dongle and buy cheap pay as you go SIMs on eBay - you can throw the SIM away after you have used the data, and put another new one in.

I can't help but notice that some of the posts on this topic have been removed. May I know why?

I'm afraid that if 'mum' is to come on here and have a pop at me, then she has to expect some reply. It's a forum after all.
