Guidance for US persons in Belgium

Question

Hi,
I'm looking for guidance for US Persons based in Belgium. Can anyone recommend individuals or advisors who could help with compliance issues with the US Authorities?
Thank you for your recommendations,
Pierre

what issues do you need advice on--legal, taxation, other? If you give some more details about the compliance issues you need advice for, we can then direct you.

Just dump the Nationality, it's the only way to be free from the land of the free. It's been a popular option lately so the USA has just upped the requirements to include almost impossible documentation and increased the basic cost from $350 to $2450. And of course, the most monstrous piece of international bullying in living memory that nobody has ever heard of has been put in place to hunt you down via the worlds financial systems, FATCA. "Land of the free". Ha.

Hello, and many thanks for your responses...
@Mikek, yes, I fully agree, and renouncing seems to be the best way forward, but above and beyond the significant cost of renouncing, the added documentation required means one needs costly professional advice in order to become compliant and be able to apply for renouncement... and a significant choice which affects not only me but my family.
@Sparkles, it's mainly an issue of getting back up to date with the IRS / FATCA (declaring back 3 years to become compliant, or 5 to renounce), and taking the decision of whether or not to renounce, for me and my kids...
Thanks again!
