Belgocontrol employees threaten strike action later this month

The three unions of air traffic controller Belgocontrol, Belgium's air traffic control authority, have filed a strike notice, with actions possible from 15 February, says the Christian trade union ACV Transcom. Spring break, which begins at the end of this week, is not in danger, the union assures in Het Laatste Nieuws. 

After 20 strike-free months, the trade unions are calling for a new strike action because they say the company failed to follow through on a number of contractual agreements, such as the recruitment of additional air traffic personnel, and the development of a pre-retirement plan for its employees.
