I will soon be leaving my job. I want to take my phone number with me. I will also need to get a new phone + a contract. How do I practically manage to take my number with me ? Any tips on which service provider to get a phone + contract with?

You need to use the same provider as your work is using if you want to keep the number. You just contact them and ask them to change the client details for your number.
