Not receiving texts from Ireland on Ortel network
Hi
I have tried with 3 different phones, a separate Ortel sim card, and changed my original Ortel sim card - no one from any network in Ireland can send text messages to my number
I have opened 2 tickets with Ortel who keep assuring me that everything works fine on their end and the problem must be on mine
Does anyone else have this issue?
Otherwise I have to change network which is a pain

Have you checked that they are using the correct International codes ?
Hi, I am with base at the moment and have the same problem. Was with proximus before that and never had a problem with texts to or from ireland although they were more expensive. Rang base and they tried to blame the handset.
Not necessarily related...I couldn't use my mobile in certain areas of another country. It happened repeatedly. My guess is that the mobile operator in that part of the country didn't have an agreement with Base. Actually, I have no idea how roaming works.
Does Ortel use the Base network?
Yes, I had this problem with Mobistar. I could not receive text messages from 3 network in the UK. I changed back to Proximus and everything worked fine again. It all depends on whether the phone companies have agreements.
