Unusual iPhone download yesterday

Question

Hi all,
I've just got of the phone with proximus my GSM downloaded a huge amount of data yesterday according to them €60 in 30 mins,
I don't usually have mobile data on but may have yesterday. I have next to no apps and I know for a fact none that allow mobile data usage. I know for a fact my apple software wasn't the most up todate yesterday evening. I was having an issue with the iPhone storing ghost copies of photos and so I restored it last next on the PC. So does anyone know if I can find out from a back up what the phone did yesterday. Did anyone else have a problem at that time? Proximus say I have to pay it because my phone did it! which I find really annoying. I know I was driving at that time so I really don't understand what the phone was supposedly doing. Is there anyway some one cloned my details? Thanks for any suggestions

sn

Go to setting -> Mobile Data . Check if you have a rouge app there. I have my mobile data on always and never had a issue like this. I am with Proximus as well.

Also did you have wi-fi assist on? If you have mobile data on and connected to wifi it will switch to mobile data if the wifi signal is low. Let me know.

Hi Sn I don't ever usually have data roaming on I think wifi assist had snuck in after an update I have now dpfound where it lurks and switched it off., but even if something was updating my phone isn't showing me the 9gb they claim in 30 mins for the past three days. Plus 9gb is huge I doubt any app update g would account for that the guy told me its eqvilient to etching a movie

That's Proximus for you. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

" I know for a fact my apple software wasn't the most up to date yesterday evening ......... anyone know if I can find ...... what the phone did yesterday."

It probably updated to IoS 9.3.2

50-80MB on the iPad 2 and iPhone 6S, but 1.4GB on the iPhone SE and 1.6GB on the iPhone 6

Then if you have been restoring your phone, re-synching your photos, and other stuff, it wouldn't be inconceivable to reach 9G of data. You need to check your data settings. It's not Proximus's fault, they don't configure your phone.

I'm afraid there's not much you can do except pay the bill. (and get a better, cheaper and more functional android phone next time to avoid this problem in future)
