Giving birth in Brussels

Question

Dear all,

I have read some discussion on this topic, but they seem out-dated (2013-2014). I'm planning to come to Brussels for studying my masters degree and I'm pregnant. Med.Insurance will not cover my pregnancy and giving birth since they cover 10-12 month prior to pregnancy. So, could you please share info on how much does giving birth cost in Brussels typical state hospital? Which hospital would you advise as low cost but with good quality.

I know someone who gave birth at Erasme university hospital and it cost about 2000-2500 euros with only one night in the hospital and a straightforward delivery. But you have to keep in mind that if there are complications or cesarean section or extended stay in the hospital it can run into many thousands.

Hi maybe worth joining the BCT and asking them for this kind of information. Fabulous resource for pregnancy and your families any way. They often have up to date information and also can recommend good gynaecologists etc
