Cheapest way to travel back from Zaventum airport to Woluwe-Saint-Pierre

Question

On a working day, what is the cheapest way to travel back from Zaventum airport to Woluwe-Saint-Pierre(Area Chant d'Oiseau)? The only catch is, a mom plus two teenage boys and one child will be in the group, with 4 checkin bags and 4 cabin bags.

-Is the only option to book a big taxi?
-If yes, how/where to book one?
-How much do they(big taxis) charge, double the fare of normal taxis?

Thanks in advance

shortof

Depends on where in Chant d'Oiseau but from Tram Museum, bus 42 to Roodebeek or metro from Montgomery to Roodebeek, cost is 1.40 per person on a mobib card or free if your teenagers have scolaire abos on a mobib card, then 1.40 for the 359 or 659 bus from Roodebeek, every 15 minutes peak time. Total cost is 2.80 per person or less if you have abos. Total cost 8.40.

I'm used to public transport so the luggage and journey would not phase me.

Thanks Shortof!

It may not be the cheapest, still want to consider a single Big Taxi option (as there 8 bags to drag, in total)

How much big Taxis will cost? double the normal taxis? How to book them?

I usually get an idea of the taxi fare using this page:
http://www.taxisautolux.be/en/services-and-rates/taxis-in-brussels

Unfortunately, if the traffic is bad, then it is hard to estimate the true cost since waiting in traffic adds to the fare.

As far as ordering a big taxi, usually when we have a lot of luggage, the taxi person at the airport just flags a big enough taxi and there is no extra cost.

Of course, prior to the bombings, we would just make the taxi queue at the airport, and the person flagging down the taxis would hold us until a big enough taxi would appear and then the taxi flagger person would tell us to go to that one. Also, when the normal taxis saw all the luggage, they would just skip us, anyway.

Haven't traveled in taxi since the bombing so not sure how the taxi queue works now, but we never ordered big taxis when we had a lot of luggage, and the right taxi size was waived for us, at no extra charge.

Taxis cost a lot because only those licensed in Zaventumn can pick up there. It is connected to public transport I've not used that but usually public here is ok

Consider using this:
http://www.taxi2brussels.be/index.lasso?Lang=EN&Airport=bxl&Direction=from

No matter the trafic, the tariff you get online when booking is what you pay.

when we have luggage we always use the aller - retour service for ZAV by Autolux - see Dispatching Taxis AUTOLUX
+32.(0)2.5.123.123
email dispatching@taxisautolux.be>
very reliable and will give you an estimate ahead of time - say number of people and luggage in booking

Thank you very much everyone.

AutoLux they cannot reserves a minivan but rather notify the dispatcher at the taxi queue at the airport and wait for a miniVan.

Another company said book for 8 persons and you will get a miniVan.

Will try https://tinker.travel/en/, booked for 6 persons, cheapest so far, yet to see their service. This website also lets you fill no. of cabin bags and check-in bags so they should know what to transport.

Still will send them en email to make sure they send a miniVan
