Bonfire night
There used to be fireworks and bonfire at the BSB in Tervuren organised by the British scout groups.
See: http://www.1stbrussels.be/
To celebrate bonfire night we are holding a scout social event for the whole family at De Kluis. There will be no fireworks as this is a forested site, but we will have a large fire & BBQ. We hope to also have some glow stick games for the younger members and lazertag for scouts & explorers.
The event is wholly outdoors although we do have the blokhut (cabin) for shelter and the BBQ shelter for catering and in case of poor weather. Please come dressed warmly and with appropriate footwear for rough, muddy ground.
Parents of beavers and cubs are expected to stay and help to supervise their own children during activities. BBQ food which will be served from around 17.30 to 19.00 to allow you to arrive a little later if that suits you and so families with younger children can leave when they are ready.
Scout & Explorer parents and siblings are also welcome to stay and enjoy the social activities. We cannot offer the activity to non-scouting families: this is not intended to be a public event.
There will be a charge of €5 per person to cover the cost of the site, a burger or hotdog and a warm drink (hot chocolate, soup or coffee). (Burgers and hotdogs both contain pork, please choose vegetarian option if this is unaceptable)
If you have food allergies you are welcome to bring along alternative food items- mention in questions.
Additional food can be ordered eg if your child wants 2 hotdogs, In these same spaces but please add 2 euro for every additional portion.
Please book & pay for your places now using the myscout application- we emailed the link on 19/10/2016. LAST date for booking is Saturday 29th.
When you click on the yes/no in the invitation you should see a series of options to fill in. Please complete fully.
If you have questions- or didn't get the email please contact Helen gsl@1stbrussels.be
Meah I think that event is ONLY for scouts not a public fund raiser which is what the fireworks were.
Sorry Blue but why would anyone do a public display for a British celebration of suppression of catholic in a catholic country? They won't now BDB doesn't do it. They previously had to cancel one due romwather and the scouts lost money I think and bsb are now very anal about who gets onto the campus due to "security" as are many of the international school
