Old clothing
I cannot help . Sorry, but have the same question. Where did you donate the good clothes? I have wardrobes to empty and should like to do the same.
Thank you.
Good clothes can be donated to Les Petits Riens/Spullenhulp or an Oxfam shop.
Old clothes can go out with your regular rubbish collection.
I gave all my late wife's clothing to a social worker attached to the local branch of our mutuelle and they were passed on to a woman's refuge. I've no idea whether all mutuelles have social workers attached to their local branches but it seemed to me to be a reasonable thing to do.
If they really "cannot be re used and are extremely old and will need to be thrown away them away", then they just go in your normal rubbish, or you can take them yourself to your local dump / "déchetteries régionales" / Parc à conteneurs. However, what you might consider beyond use, may be clothing that someone else could use. As others have said, Oxfam, or Le Petet Riens have hundreds of clothing recycling boxes all over the place (see here for example http://petitsriens.be/dons-en-nature/conteneurs-a-vetements ), where you can donate stuff.
Not in the rubbish.
Put them in a clothing bank. Anything that can't be reused gets sold by the kg and sent to be recycled.
