Gynecologist in Brussels

Question

I'm pregnant and looking for a good gynecologist in Brussels, any recommendations?
What is the best hospital to give birth to?
Is there any website with reviews of the doctors? ( i was googling it but didn't find any)
Thank you!

Private or public? (i.e. do you have hospitalization insurance?)
Where do you live?

Chose a hospital, get a list of Gynes, pick one whose consultation times/location you like.

Our experience of specialists in Belgium has been so positive that I'd not recommend any one over another, as they have all been good.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I would suggest, if you haven't done so already, joining the Brussels Childbirth Trust:

http://bctbelgium.org/support/prenatal-support/

They run a course about having a baby in Belgium and you can source lots of info from their site, talks and meet-ups etc.

Gynaecology care is excellent in Belgium. When choosing a gynaecologist, bear in mind that they will have privileges at a particular hospital. So I would suggest (for the sake of convenience) choosing a gynaecologist easily accessible from your home or work (as you will be visiting them frequently during your pregnancy) and take the choice of hospital from there.

Personally, I found Edith Cavell to be excellent but there are many other excellent hospitals too!

Hi I second bct as a source of information the members can offer you recent experience. Also hospitals and doctors here don't mind if you switch so try one and if not to your taste try another. I thhi k they offer open evenings. I switched for UZ Leuven I used ST Elizabeth's but was 17 years ago although French many staff spoke English. I had a complex pregnancy and planned C section. Lovely gynea and her colleagues also seemed good.
You are usually entitled to get a prescription gofer physio and they can help you learn how to push or work on back pain
All the best

Also
Hi J I would suggest giving birth one really does need to feel more comfortable than other reasons one visits a hospital and time is fixed so I think asking whose good is an excellent idea and simply picking from a list may not be ideal in this case.

Both our children were born in Edith Cavell and I thought it was a very good experience. They can refer you to an Obstetrician

I've been happy with Dr. Jean-Pierre Claes at Clinique Froissart:

He also does obstetricians, and he is fluent in English.
