Car replating procedure

Question

Hello,

I currently am driving a car that is not in my name with German license plates. The police stopped me the other day and told me that under Belgian law I need to obtain Belgian car plates even if the car is not in my name.

Does anyone have experience with changing car plates? Do I need to go to the commune? Can anyone recommend a car insurance?

1. Go to Customs
2. Go to your insurance
3. Go to the DIV
4. Go to the CT

In that order, IIRC.

But if the car is not yours (eg company cars), you shouldn't do anything. Ask whoever gave you the car. The procedure above is for personal cars.
