insurance before pregnancy

What are you thinking of insuring against?
No-one will insure against an existing condition so, if the baby is already on the way, you cannot insure against anything connected to the pregnancy.
You can take extra cover to give a private room in the hospital; that is a matter of personal choice but, should there be any problems at the time of the birth, you will probably get one anyway.
