Renewal of Resident Permit Belgium

Hi,

I am wondering if somebody can help me or suggest me a solution to my problem.

My Belgian resident card expired on 16th Novemeber, 2012 and I had applied for the renewal of it one month before the expiry date. It has been two months now and I do not receive any status or news on it. I have been to my commune several times and everytime they tell me that it is with Foreign office for the approval. Once they recieve the okay from ministry then I can apply for my new card.

I contacted Foreign office, they are telling me that my application is under treatment and I have to wait for the decision. All my documents are dully submitted with my valid work permit type B.

I really don't know what to do here. Should I hire a lawyer for my case or just wait for their decision which is taking a lot of time?

Any help or advice on my situation would be appreciated.
