Doctors board
Hello all, I was wondering if there is a regulator or board where you can log a complaint related to medical care or a doctor? On Christmas eve I suffered a miscarriage :-( arriving at Erasmus hospital quite upset and hoping for positive news on our pregnancy.
Unfortunately, the care I received was appalling.. Not something I would have expected in Belgium following all the good and positive comments I had heard about healthcare in Belgium.
Firstly, I was shown no respect, I speak little french.... The doctor did not prepare me well for the procedure she would perform. I was asked to remove my clothing in the referal room, and given no gown or shelter where I could undress... I was given little or no information on what she was about to do, and was not treated with respect or dignity... Of course this forum is not the place to go into every detail, but to say I was disgusted and appalled would be an understatement. I would really like to make a formal complaint, because regardless of language or creed we are all humans, and I would expect a medical professional to put the care of her patient as the highest priority. Does anyone know of a board or regulator to whom I can make a formal complaint? Needless to say I dont recommend anyone attend Erasmus hospital!! when we are sick we are most vunerable, and for sure the doctor with whom I consulted was clearly not aware that a human in distress or sick requires care, consideration and attention.
