Question

Has anybody rented their private spaces via Arbnb here in Belgium and knows how to go about? I filled everything out on the website, but now they suggest that I make sure to get clearance from the authorities. Is this applicable here?

Yes, you have to get clearance from the region.

It's a set of regulations specifically designed to discourage people from offering their homes / rooms on AirBnB.

They want to make it financially uneconomic and a pain administratively.

Completely unnecessary red tape, but hey!, that's what we pay our taxes for.

Depends where you live. Flanders is reasonable. Brussels is difficult.
