Eurostar - London to Brussels

Question

Hi all,
I have been in London for the last 2 months but I want to come back to Belgium to visit my partner. Has anyone used the Eurostar travelling from London to Brussels during the lock down? Are they very strict about traveling now? I am an EU Citizen. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

There is an entire section on the Eurostar website dealing with these types of questions:

https://www.eurostar.com/uk-en/travel-info/service-information/coronavir...

Basically , there is only one train London/ Brussels per day, the stations themselves will have very few facilities, and you should bring your own food.

However, as a non-Belgian (despite being EU) you can't just come to Brussels to "visit your partner", you can only enter Belgium if you are 1) a Belgian national, or 2) you are a long-term resident in Belgium and have legal residence in Belgium.

See here:

specifically the question "Is it still allowed to travel to Belgium from abroad?"

If you don't have a Belgian E-card (or E+) in addition to your national identity document you won't be allowed to board the train at St.Pancras, full stop.

The same will apply if you try driving via Eurotunnel or one of the few remaining ferry services.

Most borders within the EU are firmly closed, either physically by barriers or with very strict police controls. Only good vehicles, frontalliers (with documentary proof) and those travelling to their permanent residence are allowed to cross. Even the border between Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is closed - for the first time ever (except during the German occupation of the two world wars).
