Stib bus mounts pavement, injuring two pedestrians

Two pedestrians have been injured, one seriously, after a Stib bus driver lost control and mounted a pavement in Koekelberg.
The incident happened outside Simonis metro station at about 13.00 on Monday.
According to the Brussels public prosecutor's office, both of the pedestrians were young men, who were waiting at the bus stop.
They were taken to hospital in a critical condition. The condition of one of the victims has since improved. The other sustained serious injuries to the lower back.
No passengers were on board the number 87 bus at the time. The driver was not injured but was also taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
An investigation has been opened.
